About Char Dham Yatra

What is the Char Dham Yatra?

The Char Dham Yatra is one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimages in India and attracts millions of devotees every year to the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The pilgrimage includes four sacred shrines β€” Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath β€” and is traditionally completed in a clockwise order.

Spiritual Significance

According to Hindu belief, completing the Char Dham Yatra helps cleanse past sins, brings inner peace and leads the devotee closer to spiritual liberation (moksha). The pilgrimage was popularized by Adi Shankaracharya and remains one of the most respected spiritual journeys in India.

Today, improved roads, better accommodation and organized travel services have made the yatra accessible for families, senior citizens, couples and group travellers from India and abroad.

✨ JD Tours & Travels Recommendation: Start your journey from Haridwar or Rishikesh for the most convenient and traditional Char Dham route.
